As a tradition, Garage Sale – raising fund for charity have been organised by some BC local staffs since 2008. All seller fees and partial of proceeds (at least 20% of sale profit) come toward Charity Fund. The fund then distributed to disadvantaged people and children all over Vietnam such as: aids for needy families in poor and remote area, books and stationeries donation for children in Cup village, Quang Tri (Van Kieu minority group), books donation to set up library for children at Paediatrics Hospital, aids for poor students at a school for visually and hearing impaired kids in Hanoi and so on. The programme has been a success in term of raising fund for those in need as well as promoting reUse and reCycle.
After the Summer Garage Sale in July 2011, we successfully raised 12,518,000VND for the charity fund and 6,000,000VND was donated for SympaMeal programme in K Hospital.
In December 2011, we are organising a Winter Garage Sale on Sunday, 18th Dec 2011, from 10am to 3pm at Room 6, 1st floor, Center for Women and Development, 20 Thuy Khue, Hanoi
We would like to invite you to participate in the event in one of the following ways :
- to register as Garage Sale seller
- in case you have things to sell but you are unable to be at the venue on 18/12, you can pass all of your items on to the Organising team who will sell on behalf of you.
General rules:
+ Seller fee is 300,000VND. After the sale, 20% of profit OR minimum 200,000VND will be deducted for Charity Fund.+ Selling items should be at least 70% new, in a good condition and useable. No limted on items category.
+ Unwanted items after the sale can be donated to people in need. The Organisers will help to send them to selected charity addresses (in the past years, after every garage sale, we sent boxes of clothes/books/children toys etc to Van Kieu minority people in Cup village, Quang Tri)
